Please note: The Neaman Practice does not issue invoices out to patients unless it relating to a request made by the patient e.g. insurance report which the patient will already be aware of in advance when making the request. The Neaman Practice does not use email as a form of correspondence to patients unless we are replying back to an email sent by a patient.
What should you do if you’ve received a scam email?
- Delete the email straight away (including from your deleted inbox)
- Do not click on any links in the scam email.
- Do not reply to the email or contact the senders in any way.
- If you have clicked on a link in the email, do not supply any information on the website that may open.
- Do not open any attachments that arrive with the email.
If you think you may have compromised the safety of your bank details and/or have lost money due to fraudulent misuse of your cards, you should immediately contact your bank.
If you've been a victim of fraud, report it to Action Fraud: https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/scam-emails
I have been in touch with Action Fraud, ICO (Information Commissioners Office) and City & Hackney Confederation Data Protection Officer regarding this matter, who have informed me I have done all that I can and taken all preventative measures that I can to ensure that Patient Data remains safe. The ICO advised me to update you all to make you aware of the matter, so that you can protect yourself against such scams and remain vigilant in future.
